Who we are
OVARI is an independent charitable organisation dedicated to advancing reproductive health for women and individuals assigned female at birth.
For generations, women’s bodies have been under-researched, under-taught, and underrepresented in medicine. From menstrual health and fertility to hormonal conditions and menopause, the biological realities of female bodies have too often been treated as secondary, complex, or exceptional — rather than fundamental.
OVARI exists to change that.
We focus specifically on the reproductive health experiences of women, recognising that improving outcomes for women benefits families, communities, and public health systems as a whole.

Why we exist
Women experience reproductive health conditions more frequently, more chronically, and with greater impact - yet they remain systematically underrepresented in research, education, and data.
This has led to:

Delayed diagnosis
of conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, and premature ovarian insufficiency
Poor public understanding
of menstrual and hormonal health, pregnancy and menopause
Limited evidence
to inform care across fertility, reproductive health, pregnancy, and menopause
Persistent health inequalities
affecting people assigned female at birth from marginalised or underserved communities
OVARI was founded to address these gaps through education, research, and advocacy designed explicitly around female biology and lived experience.
Our charitable purpose
OVARI’s charitable objects are to:
- Advance education in reproductive health
- Improve access to accurate, inclusive reproductive health information
- Promote and conduct scientific research for public benefit
- Support improvements in public health systems through evidence-based advocacy
All of OVARI’s activities are delivered in accordance with charity law and are designed to generate clear, measurable public benefit.
Who we serve
OVARI’s work is open to the public, but it prioritises women and individuals assigned female at birth who experience barriers to reproductive health information, research inclusion, or care.
This includes:
Women navigating fertility challenges or reproductive planning
Individuals affected by chronic reproductive or hormonal conditions
Those experiencing menopause or perimenopause with limited support
People from communities historically underserved by healthcare systems

Individuals do not need a diagnosis to benefit from OVARI’s work. Many people live with symptoms, uncertainty, or unmet needs long before receiving clinical recognition.
What we do - and what we don’t do
OVARI is not a healthcare provider.
We do not deliver diagnosis, treatment, or personalised medical advice.
Instead, we exist to:
- Improve understanding of women’s reproductive health
- Advance ethically governed research into female biology
- Translate evidence into education and advocacy for public benefit
This distinction is central to our charitable role.
